When my co-runner D said I looked like Mrs. Clause I knew what she meant. Yes that I was pleasantly plump with grey hair and rosy cheaks. NOT. She called me this as we were running at -1 degrees and all my hair (what little strands were hanging out) were grey from frost. Even my eyebrows and eye lashes were grey. My cheaks were indead red from running just a measley 2 1/2 miles and it should be a warm up but instead I was panting and she was non-stop talking me through our mileage. I had to tell her I didn't think being called Mrs. Clause was acompliment and we both had a nice laugh.
It was the coldest I've ever run in, sort of. The wind-chill on top of temp might make a few other days colder than today but I still got my layers on and came home with Red legs. I told D about the time I went running with M in my neighborhood - when I was a "Novice" runner and said "no way" and turned around after only going up to the corner. She thought I was crazy. Of course I was not going running in the cold, icy weather. I guess I graduated from "Novice" stage now. Now D and M are still TRYING to talk me into doing a FULL Marathon. I have not committed yet.

Commit! you know you want to! And I can promise you that a marathon in May in PA will NOT leave us frosty, frozen and Mrs. Claus-like.
